What it’s for

Kids, and anyone whose skin has opinions. A single-filter zinc lotion — fragrance-free, no organic filters, nothing in it that has to be explained to a paediatrician. It is the formula we would hand to someone who has been reading ingredient lists at midnight.

How it feels

A light cast on application that rubs down in under a minute. It is deliberately thick enough to see, because the alternative is guessing whether you got the ear of a child who is already running.

Active ingredients

• Zinc Oxide (non-nano) 20%

Mineral — a single non-nano zinc oxide filter.

Also in it, and why

Squalane, Aloe Barbadensis, Panthenol.

How to use it

1. Apply generously to dry skin fifteen minutes before going out.
2. Reapply every two hours, and straight after swimming or towelling.
3. Shade, a hat and a long-sleeved rash top do more for a small child than any sunscreen. Use all four.
